Professional bio
Wakefield grew up in Andrew County and earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Services from Northwest Missouri State University. He has spent nearly two decades in financial planning and investment management and has held the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification continuously since 2010.
After beginning his career at larger financial firms, he returned home and founded Greater Than Financial in 2015. The firm is built around independent, evidence-based advice and clear explanations of the reasoning behind it.
Wakefield's day-to-day work at the firm centers on multigenerational families, business owners, farm owners, and near-retirees with complex situations that need ongoing attention. He also oversees the firm's investment philosophy, its model portfolios, and the strategic direction of the practice.

Life outside the office
Wakefield lives in Savannah with his wife Sara and their kids.
He has volunteered with Young Life in Northwest Missouri for more than fifteen years, serves at Fillmore Christian Church, and serves as Treasurer of the Andrew County Nursing Home District (ACNHD) and Treasurer of the Savannah Parks Board.
