Emalee Wheeler
Client Service and Operations Associate

Professional bio
Emalee earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Wichita State University. She joined Greater Than Financial in 2021, starting on the operations side of the practice, and has since grown into a role that touches nearly every part of a client's experience with the firm.
For most clients, Emalee is the first point of contact, the reason paperwork gets done, transfers get processed, and questions get answered quickly. That attention to detail has carried into planning work too. Emalee often works with people early in their careers, thinking through decisions like buying a first house or getting started on the right foot.
Life outside the office
Emalee spends most of her free time outside the office with her husband and son. She's an avid reader and almost always has a book going, whether it's for enjoyment or just to unwind after a long day. She also makes a habit of taking long walks around her neighborhood, a small routine that gives her space to think and reset. It's a quieter pace than the fast-moving parts of life, but it keeps her grounded. Family, a good book, and a walk outside are usually enough to make for a good day.
Why this work matters to Emalee
Emalee believes financial planning shouldn't be reserved for people who already have it figured out. Too many people assume they need a certain amount of money, or a certain level of financial knowledge, before they're ready for a real conversation about their finances, and she wants that assumption gone. That's part of why she enjoys working with people early in their careers, the ones just starting to think through a first house, a first real budget, or their first savings goal. She believes good financial education meets people where they are instead of talking past them, and that a plan only works if it's explained clearly enough for someone to understand what they're doing and why. For Emalee, that's the real goal, making sure people understand their money.
